“When our lives get overloaded, one of the first things we cut back is the time we spend with friends. But it is these very relationships that can center us, ease our stress, and remind of of our true priorities.” ~ New Seasons’ Friends perpetual calendar
Many people have heard me state that 2005 was the Year of the Friend for me. One of my biggest priorities was spending time with friends. As the second month of the 2006 comes to a close, I can tell you that 2006 is shaping up to be just as friend-filled as 2005.
In the past few weeks I’ve been working a lot of overtime hours at work. But one things I’ve managed to do is keep in touch with friends. It’s kept me sane, kept me focused.
When was the last time you spent time with a friend… just hanging out together… sharing your dreams and struggles… enjoying the experience of laughing and crying together?
I know you’re busy. So am I. It can be a challenge to find dates and times that work for both of you. Don’t let that get you down. Pick a date six weeks in the future to meet. It doesn’t matter if you can’t do it tomorrow. Just get it on your calendar.
You know how quickly time passes these days. Schedule an appointment with a friend so that you won’t lose touch with each other. Who cares if it isn’t a spontaneous get-together. Once you’ve gotten used to having friends in your life again, you’ll be more likely to fit them in on shorter notice. But for now…
Pick up the phone or send an e-mail to someone you’ve been missing. Do it today! Make your friendship like RAINBOW...!!!!
